Score

As a director who started in music videos, a film’s soundtrack is super important to me!

FORK MOUNTAIN’s score will be as important to telling the story as the visuals.

As May O’Keefe’s identity is a mixture of her parents’ Irish ancestry and her own awakening Asian / Chinese identity, the music will shift between these two vastly different cultural soundscapes.

Irish lilting will blend with traditional Chinese folk instruments, but with the fresh aesthetic of post-90’s pop music.

My personal goal with the soundtrack is to present a new concept of the transracial adoptee identity as not just a clash of cultures, but instead, a harmonic fusion.

Above: Example of Irish lilting, in a harmonized duet.
Above: Example of music played on traditional Chinese instruments.
